About

Hello and welcome to Starmesh!

There has never been a more exciting time to partake in the advanced manufacturing revolution. Over the last few years the industry has seen leaps and bounds in almost every sector from aerospace and medical to the consumer market and even food. It is now possible make a prosthetic hand for under $200 in a garage within a week. The sheer thought of it is nothing short of mind blowing.

For me this all started when I bought my first 3D printer back in 2015. I had an inspiration for an invention and thought 3D printing would be a good way to experiment with my ideas without spending too much money on outsourcing prototype production.

The invention never took off, but the process of watching my ideas literally materialise in front of my eyes introduced me to a world of possibilities and a newfound appreciation for design, engineering, manufacturing and just the pure joy of building something to be able to say “hey, I made this today!”.

To this day, I still wait eagerly and impatiently in front of my printer, watching it intensely for it to finish making the new thing I designed. Everyday feels like Christmas.

The first thing I’ve ever printed! At the time I was overexcited and confused mm for cm, and that’s how a 5cm tall robot became the size of a pea…

I created Starmesh as a platform to let me share this sense of empowerment with more people. I can show you just how easy it can be to take that crazy idea in your head and turn it into physical reality, in a matter of days. I believe that given the right environment and the right tools, anyone can be inspired to build something great. So please, continue making and never stop dreaming.

Let’s talk soon.
