Taking the idea from the custom Gundam light further, in May 2016 I made a USB solution to an Ironman figure I had. The figure came with coin batteries that will light up the chest and head with the flick of a switch. I designed a replacement piece for the battery cover with an integrated micro USB port. Inside the cover were a small voltage regulator and resistor to take the 5 V supply from the USB down to 3.3 V for the LEDs. I arranged the components and bent the legs in a way such that it touches the existing battery terminals within the figure just right to close the circuit. It saved me having to modify the figure wiring.
